You’re success lies directly in the palm of your hand with the decision to step up and stand proud for risking success. Take you next step forward armed with better knowledge, shielded by more experience, faithfully moving towards your vision.

Take Control Of Your Reputation

Henry Ford Took Control Of His Reputation

In today’s world of information overload and never being quite sure what to believe, building your reputation has become more important then ever before.  In the past if you became a ‘bad’ person, you could just get on your high-horse and trot out of town.  But today there are few ways to escape your past.  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others all store persistence information that your great grandchildren will be able to search for and find.

So what do you do about it?  How do you build a successful reputation that will help fend off the inevitable human condition causing mistakes to happen?   Henry Ford once said “You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.”  you must build you reputation through conscious action.  Not by thinking about them, but by doing them!

It’s nice enough to think about taking out the trash on time.  Telling your neighbor you will get it to the curb by the morning is fine.  So long as you get it there.

The first thing you want to avoid when building your reputation is not to speak hollow words that let people down.  The honesty of your words is one of the few things you can always control.  You must protect that.  If you make a habit of not following through on things you say you will, then you lose trust in people.  Some might even say you lie, and that can be hard to fix.

The good news is that you can always choose to control what you say, and what you do.  You have the power to fully control your reputation.  Rather then being the person who is going to do something, be the person always doing something.  Get in the habit of staying busy and you will both become more productive and increase the value of your reputation.

The next question is … What are you going to do about it??

If you find that hard to answer, then break it apart into thing you should probably stop doing.  If you’re one to talk a lot but take little action, there is a good chance you have a reputation of not following through with things.  The fastest way to start a change is to stop talking so much.  with 2 ears and 1 mouth you should listen twice as much as you talk. Slow down and think about words before you say them and ask yourself  “Am I really going to do this?”  if not, stop talking right there.

Make the change in you mind, and take action on what you say.

Don’t wait, act!

A Review of “The Traveler’s Gift” – Andy Andrews

The Traveler's Gift - Andy Andrews

Quite probably the best and easily the most inspiring book I have ever read. “The Travelers Gift” by Andy Andrews has been lent or given to several of my friends and family with every one of them stating how inspiring the book is to get up and take control of your own destiny.

The Travelers gift is fun story that starts with a very easy to relate to family with very common problems and worries that in some way, at some time in our lives, we have somehow experienced or are currently living through. Many people live with a either a fear of losing a job or working for one they don’t like. Many people have fears and worries about how they will provide for their family, friends, and partner.

The story uses time travel in much the same way it’s used in “A Christmas Carol” with Ebenezer Scrooge visiting different times and possibilities. The difference with “the Travelers Gift” is you visit history changing events and speak with several well known people such as King Solomon while deciding who the correct mother is of a child, Christopher Columbus while still on a boat in the middle of the ocean still looking for land, Ann Rice while in hiding from the Jew killing Nazi’s, and several others key events in history. You’re taken through the methods of thought and actions taken that created the history we know from these epic events.

Each little story within the story reveals a powerful message of abundance and when carried together hold the secret to leading a fulfilling abundant life.

Every action you take is a personal choice. The real question is weather this choice is conscious or unconscious. Once you’ve chosen to make your life filled with accomplished dreams, the only thing holding you are the choices you make and the actions you take.

The Travelers Gift helps bring all of this into perspective in merely 140 pages of large print.

I give this book My Highest recommendation. Making “The Traveler’s Gift” required reading in the school systems around the ages of 12-15 could help create more inspired, better focused children, better armed to fight the personal battles we all inevitably face that hold us back while living our lives.

Go on — Seek Wisdom. :)

The Best Work From Home Ideas Come From Doing What You Love.

Monday, June 14th, 2010

The best work from home idea’s come from doing what you love.

There you are, slaving away at your 9-5 doing the daily grind.  For months now you haven’t been able to get these thoughts out of your head. Saying to yourself “I know I deserve more then this.  I know I can do better… How I could only find a work from home idea that provides lifestyle dreams and better choices”.   You keep asking yourself  “what work from home ideas can I come up with?”, but when will you take action on achieving this financial independence?

People almost never look for a missing item directly in from of them, but that is where many of your answers probably are. There’s a reason for the saying “the best place to hind something is in plain sight.”  If you could see them, then you would find it. Right?  But people bump in to each other walking on the sidewalks because they weren’t looking there and people don’t see answers when they’re that close either.

Times of change always been times of opportunity.  The awesome thing about living around the year 2000 is that change is all around us all the time. With endless change comes endless opportunities just for the taking.  But do you have what it takes to stretch out and grab your perfect work from from idea??

Our world has global instant communication.  REAL friends all over the world regularly video call internationally for free with chat software. The younger generations who grew up with the internet from day 1 think nothing of this, it’s normal and has always been in their life.  Refrigerators with their own internet connections automatically ordering grocery delivery are being installed already, before my grandfather cares what a computer could ever do for him.  There is amazing change happening, and with our continued exponential growth of innovation and knowledge we can only expect more change the wake of future innovation successes.  I’m sure holograph capable communication devices are much closer then most people think.

Why You Care That Everything is Changing

You no longer have to worry about a local market, it doesn’t matter where you are in the world. Even in Timbuktu, if you can get an internet connection you have a potential broad market of about 2 Billion people right now with internet connections and growing quickly.  You can start building the foundation of your dreams with a free internet connection at a library, or most smart phones if you have one.  But if you’re going to create the lifestyle of your dreams you need to be doing something you love.  You NEED to be passionate about what you do with your time.

Lets do some math, and start with 1 of 100′s of possible business models to start you’re business online with an option of growing it offline later if you want.  You already mapped out in detail your dreams and the major things you need to make them happen, right?  If not, that must be the first step, ensuring more detail then ‘make a lot of money‘ as this  doesn’t really exist, but $1 million does. You must  where you want to go so you can know when you have arrived.  With your dreams firmly in place you start making partnerships with companies that already have products for sale related to what you love, and you sell them online with mouse clicks for a commission.

This my friend, is as simple as it sounds, but your thinking process might be making it hard for you to believe.  What might be hard for you is bending your mind around what value is, and that you have what it takes to produce it.  I’m sure you have the value within you.  You must make the choice of doing what it takes to make it work.  Demand success as much as you demand air to breath.

How Do You Make Make Money Doing What You Love?

Perhaps, like most people you are attracted to value.  So when you need to attract people to your passion you simply need to make yourself valuable doing what you love. Your crazy passion for doing enjoyable tasks will add authenticity to your character, and with a working within a good system you can make great money while running towards your dream.  GaryVaynerchuk speak about this on TED.com, as does the successful “Internet Marketing” community as a whole.  Learning to market yourself as brand “YOU” on the internet is your ability to “print money” online.

It’s no different then personally selling yourself face-to-face to a potential customer as they walk past your store. And almost exactly the same as how you ‘sold’ yourself to your lover convincing them you are a good catch. Only now when people come looking for something or someone, it’s mostly online and you appear as the answer they want through a blog or or video or something online.  When you have the solution they are looking for, they will reward you.

People tend not buy from businesses, they buy from people they know, like, and trust.  With your online existence you no longer need  to spend an hour in conversation with a client to help build your relationship with them.  They search, find a profile about you and your business.  There they get to know, like, and trust you while you’re somewhere else. — Sleeping, spending time with the family, or working on making your company and image stronger.

Like a day-job, you must work hard at becoming valuable for your home based business.  When you first started a new job it was tough to learn all you needed to know, but over time you become really good at it.  If you spend enough time doing anything, you will become great at it.  Work hard learning and giving back to those interested in your field.  Become an expert; Become a leader.  Around the world there are billions of people interested in possibly trillions of different things.  Do what you love and become the best you can be at it because every market only exists because people are spending money in it. You deserve to have your fair slice of that pie.

There are almost 2 Billion internet users around the world moving well over $3 Trillion (2007) through online transactions.  When you make yourself seen as a value added resource, people will be interested in what you have allowing you to make a living doing it.  If you don’t want your business entirely online that fine too,  but you should start with an online business model because it can be started for nothing but time.  Where starting a business used to mean having at least $100k to start, you can now get off the ground with just an idea and a dream.  This is the great equalizer people talk about. All you have to do is stop thinking about a great future and start acting to create your awesome future for it to happen.

Once your hard work starts returning a little profit, put as much as you can back into the company to help it grow.  Acquire tools to automate tasks and outsource things that don’t fit your dream.  Then with your business operating smoothly, it’s time to make a choice: build an online empire, build out brick & motor store locations, or work less hard and enjoy what your have already built.  It’s at this point all your work from home ideas become your at home success story.

When you want to start living the life of you dreams, you will start doing really well the things you really love.
Help enough people get what they want, and they in turn, will help you gain what you want.
Start now.  Take action for your future sake.

If that dream of you sitting in fount of you could provide you all the free time and the lifestyle you most want for the next 70 years or more, would you be persistent enough to use a the few months to the work to pick up your dream?

One of the hardest thing for people to understand is often when they are so close to the freedom and lifestyle they yearn for, they quit.
