A Review of “The Traveler’s Gift” – Andy Andrews

The Traveler's Gift - Andy Andrews

Quite probably the best and easily the most inspiring book I have ever read. “The Travelers Gift” by Andy Andrews has been lent or given to several of my friends and family with every one of them stating how inspiring the book is to get up and take control of your own destiny.

The Travelers gift is fun story that starts with a very easy to relate to family with very common problems and worries that in some way, at some time in our lives, we have somehow experienced or are currently living through. Many people live with a either a fear of losing a job or working for one they don’t like. Many people have fears and worries about how they will provide for their family, friends, and partner.

The story uses time travel in much the same way it’s used in “A Christmas Carol” with Ebenezer Scrooge visiting different times and possibilities. The difference with “the Travelers Gift” is you visit history changing events and speak with several well known people such as King Solomon while deciding who the correct mother is of a child, Christopher Columbus while still on a boat in the middle of the ocean still looking for land, Ann Rice while in hiding from the Jew killing Nazi’s, and several others key events in history. You’re taken through the methods of thought and actions taken that created the history we know from these epic events.

Each little story within the story reveals a powerful message of abundance and when carried together hold the secret to leading a fulfilling abundant life.

Every action you take is a personal choice. The real question is weather this choice is conscious or unconscious. Once you’ve chosen to make your life filled with accomplished dreams, the only thing holding you are the choices you make and the actions you take.

The Travelers Gift helps bring all of this into perspective in merely 140 pages of large print.

I give this book My Highest recommendation. Making “The Traveler’s Gift” required reading in the school systems around the ages of 12-15 could help create more inspired, better focused children, better armed to fight the personal battles we all inevitably face that hold us back while living our lives.

Go on — Seek Wisdom. :)

My Dreams & What I Plan To Do With Them

“Some people think of the glass as half full. ...
Image via Wikipedia

Globally, there are a lot of people with a lot of great ideas, though many of these great ideas are never implemented.  Maybe it’s because you don’t think you’re good enough, or you don’t think you’re smart enough, or some other self determined limitation.  I truly believe the world would be a better place if we knew how to see our own personal dreams turned into amazing achievements.

In a world where may people still think that there is a magic easy button that can solve all of life’s problems, there is still the issue of what good old fashioned hard work does for our mind and spirit.  How good do you feel when you put a lot of effort into something and it works out?  When it does work out, how easy is it to forget the hard work and fully embrace the joyous feelings of accomplishment?

My dream is to empower people, all people, YOU, to achieve your dreams and provide methods to make this happen.

With the advent of the internet age we suddenly became able to communicate and share with people we would have never otherwise come in contact with.  This one advancement empowers regular people the ability to make their dreams come true, when used correctly for this purpose.

Almost anything worth achieving is very difficult, if not impossible, without help from others.   The internet allows people from all over the world to help other people from all over the world.   When people are able to keep their real efforts involved with tasks they enjoy they remain much more productive, and happier, to put the effort in.  When it becomes easier to find more people interested in exactly what you are interested in, it becomes a lot easier to learn more, faster, and get more done in less time.

A great football player doesn’t become great for having a talent. They become great when they share that talent with as many other people as possible, in a way that provides value.  Who would ever care about David Beckham if he though there were too many good people already playing and decided to watch the games from the stands instead?

If you provide enough value, to enough people, they in turn will provide you with the abundant lifestyle your value is worth.

My dreams are simple:
I want to provide the world with a simple energy solution that not only provides electricity, but also clean drinking water and enables the production of clean whole foods — all without a carbon footprint .
And I do have a system in mind that can do this already, with today’s technology.  It’s now just a matter of organized effort to make this happen.

My reason for this is simple too.  If all the people in the world had clean food, good water, and energy to run their lives, then people would also be healthier, happier, more creative, and more able to act on there dreams.  When people are living their dreams, I believe they would be more willing to help out a stranger, or provide for other peoples needs as they come around.  It’s at this point everyone would be able to utilize the power of the internet to lead you own worth and valuable cause.

These are the reasons I get up in the morning and why I get excited to put in hard effort each day.

Currently I’m partnered up with what could be the best online community of enlightened entrepreneurs in the world (well, at least in 184 countries at this point).
Using the education and empowerment they provide I’ve development some partnerships where we’re trying to provide training to teach people how to make money online with absolutely no money up front, and fee based for existing businesses.
All of this is being done while working through the technical and bureaucratic details of creating an energy system that can free the world from its dependence with oil.

There is a real chance of this working too, and if when it does, there is a chance of the utopic ideal of world peace.  While part of what makes us human is the ability to have different opinions about exactly the same thing, I feel if no one is wanting for food and basic nutrition then we will be better armed to respect each other and gracefully agree to disagree on certain issues.

Personal Development Through Video Games

Civilization popularized the detailed empire m...
Image via Wikipedia

Many of us love to play video games for fun and recreation time, but I’ve always tried to make the idea of fun merge with education -  edu-tainment.

I’m just a boy who has wasted many days and weeks mindless in front of a screen playing with computers programming and playing. But over time I became attracted to design and strategy games…  ones like Railroad tycoon (and many other “tycoon” games from Lemonade tycoon to Oil tycoon), dabbled a little with Sim City, and had many (many) days consumed by Sid Meier’s Civilization (and still do occasionally).

What appeals to me about these games is the strong relationship between the simulated game world and the real one we live in. With Railroad Tycoon you would have a small amount of capitol to start out with having to build your company with supply and demand issues, real credit concerns with your financiers, and the value of you company would change based on the real results you achieve in the game. much the way real businesses win and lose real challenges.
In civilization, you start out with a nomadic settler and either a scout or a warrior with no knowledge of your surroundings. The goal is to conquer the world, or win the space race, or have overwhelming cultural achievements. To win you need to feed and defend your people while expanding your presents and being required to maintain relationships with other civilizations within a realistic political model that even includes the United Nations later on in the game.

What these games have done for me is assist the creation of strategies for the real world that have come to serve me well.   Learning what it takes to make a business or economy flourish is just as important as knowing what will cripple them.  And in the world of simulation there can be no better place to try new ideas that could have devastating or euphoric real world results.

The idea of simulation is an old scientific practice.  We use simulators for training pilots and to model experiments along with countless other ways of gaining confidant results before putting your money, reputation, and occasionally your life on the line (in the case of medical science).

When these games are played with the joint purpose of enjoyment and education, one can gain some great insights while not feeling burdened by learning.  What if school was like a party, and the new friends you create and enjoy stimulating conversations with were also educational?  This is how I believe things should be.  The new world we are in the midst of creating through the Internet, with the massive information exchange is allowing people to do just that.

Of course, the real world is ultimately where these idea’s need to executed if you want to see any real successes.  The new social media of the web is a great place to test the waters of the new and reforming you.  It doesn’t matter if you are a business owner looking for some (or more) success, or someone who just wants to see change in their life, it all starts with creating the new person you want to be, and then just living it.

I have to admit, these games that I play are not as educational as any formal training, but they did passively position my mind to think about structure and positioning, planning and forethought, without even realizing it.  Weather you are learning how to become an entrepreneur or just want to get your kids doing something more productive with their time, an easy way you can start re-bending your mind is through insightful games that stimulate business creativity and personal development.

To your successful life.

When you have no goals or aspirations it’s hard to make anything That will be remembered  from your life. With the world moving at such a quick pace, thinking outside the box your life is sitting in can seem a bit overwhelming.

And why bother now when there is so much time later to deal with it?  Your family and friends allow you to believe you will always have time to think about and pursue your life dreams and goals are – later.
